Shohag Parvez, born on December 31, 1981, in Kushtia, Bangladesh, is a contemporary Bangladeshi painter inspired by the country’s rural life, natural beauty, and rich cultural heritage. Influenced by the cultural traditions of Lalon and Rabindranath Tagore, he developed a passion for painting from an early age.
He completed his BFA in 2007 and MFA in 2009 from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka. His paintings portray Bangladesh’s rivers, canals, wetlands, agricultural landscapes, village life, and diverse communities, including the Santal and Murong people. Through his distinctive artistic vision, Shohag captures the beauty, simplicity, and cultural diversity of Bangladesh. He has held nine solo exhibitions and continues to establish himself as a promising contemporary artist. |
